The Peterborough Museum

The Peterborough Museum features exhibits of early American furniture, decorative arts, pewter, and Peterborough industry. The Robbe Family Kitchen: Peterborough 1785 looks at daily life in town during the early years of the new Republic.

Our Peterborough Gallery, a timeline history of the town from settlement to the present, is on view in the main entry of the Historical Society.

The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday,

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Adults- $3, children under 12 and Historical Society members- free.

Special group tours of the museum, Phoenix Mill House and District #8 Schoolhouse are available. Email us to schedule your group.

42° 86', 71° 95' Our Town and Peterborough

Open for the summer months!

As Peterborough Players celebrates its 75th season this summer, the Historical Society will open a new exhibit which will explore the play most associated with Peterborough, Thornton Wilder's Our Town.

The exhibit will feature the Players' productions of this classic American work and the author's connections to Peterborough, examining the frequently asked question, "Is Peterborough Our Town?"

The exhibit will be on view throughout the summer season and will enhance your enjoyment of this summer's production of Our Town at the Players.

Admission: $3 per adult, children (under 12) and PHS members- FREE!
